COVID-19

The current situation regarding the COVID-19 virus has forced many changes on us all, both personally and in the workplace.  The latest Government measures to enforce social distancing have seen a number of businesses under increasing pressure and enforced closures.  SWP do not currently fall within the scope of these enforced closures and we are still robust and fully operational.

There have been estimates of an overall uplift in retail sales of between 600 and 800%, and this has massively increased demand for packaging in addition to other products.  Plastics packaging is key to ensure hand-wash, bleach, medicines, and food and drink are hygienically and safely transported to retailers with minimal losses.

The manufacturing industry is being called upon to determine their capacity for producing ventilators, cough guards, face masks, various equipment for healthcare workers, containers and bottles for hand sanitisers and soaps, clinical waste bins and polythene sheeting.

Over the last two days we have supplied material to supermarkets to ensure their workers can continue supplying food to the nation and enough material to fabrication companies to provide approximately half a million safety visors to the NHS. Furthermore our sister companies are supplying the wall cladding for the temporary hospitals and morgues and engineering materials for ventilator parts.

There is a collective national effort to link suppliers to manufacturers and within our highly experienced customer network we can connect services including die-cutting, tool making, vacuum forming, injection moulding, CNC, laser, assembly & screen, digital & litho printing.

We are all going through a period of immense change and having to adapt to the unprecedented circumstances that we find ourselves in.  All our office workers are working from home and our warehouse staff are adhering to the strictest social distancing and cleanliness procedures.

Please be assured of our best attention at all times.
